If you need to improve your English language level before joining an academic programme, an English course in the UK is the quickest and most effective way to learn. You will be with English-speaking people every day and you will also be fully immersed in British culture.
The International College offers two types of English language preparation for international students on a foundation certificate or diploma course, and those on the graduate diploma course.
Graduate diploma students:
New Tier 4 visa regulations stipulate that graduate diploma students will need to have a minimum IELTS level of 5.5 (or equivalent SELT score) with a minimum of 5.5 in each component. Find a full list of UKBA approved Secure English Language Tests (PDF) here.
The International College offers pre-sessional English courses to potential graduate diploma students to help them achieve these results. These English courses are highly intensive and have one goal – to help you achieve the required level of English in order to study at a postgraduate level in the UK!
What is a pre-sessional course for graduate diploma candidates comprised of?
The preparatory English for the graduate diploma is a specialised intensive English course with a strong focus on exam preparation and individual attention. You will receive 24 hours of tuition per week, plus self study and access to online exam practice. The mock exams will identify skills and weaknesses to be addresses in tutorials.
