Nightlife

Glasgow has a fantastic variety of venues. More than 700 pubs and nightclubs include 100 ft long bars, basement clubs, converted churches and river boats. Take a look at a few of the options near to the College.

Sub Club

If electronica, house and improvised dance music is what you are looking for, the Sub Club is your place. A club where up-and-coming DJs showcase their skills alongside established music makers.

The Flying Duck

Newly appointed as Glasgow’s coolest club, The Flying Duck feels more like a house party than a nightclub. Hungry nightowls are also treated to free toast later in the evening!

Boho

Just a short walk from GIC, Boho is a favourite of Glasgow students. You can pop in with your friends and classmates, dance the night away or play some pool. Don’t forget to try one of the delicious chicken tikka wraps.

Oran Mor

Up the road from the University, this converted church blends traditional Scottish styles over three floors containing a pub, a club and a performance space. Oran Mor is the place to have ‘a play, a pie and a pint’.

Brel

Down the popular, cobbled Ashton Lane, Brel is one of a number of bars favoured by the locals for its charm. The summer beer garden is practically the University’s back yard.
