As future host of the 2014 Commonwealth Games, Glasgow is making huge investments in its sporting facilities. You have the chance to be part of these exciting times.
Sport and leisure centres
You can join leisure centres all over the city. Culture and Sport Glasgow, the public sports provider, has more than 28 centres including gyms, running tracks, swimming pools and wall climbing venues.
Football and rugby
Celtic and Rangers have spread Glasgow’s name around the football-loving world. Meanwhile, all levels of rugby enjoy a strong following, from the Glasgow Warriors to local club involvement.
Golf
The west coast of Scotland has some of the best golf courses in the world. Within a 15-mile radius you can play casually or seriously, while enjoying gorgeous views across to the islands.
Europe’s adventure playground
With hundreds of miles of lochs (lakes) and mountains, Scotland is Europe’s prime destination for fans of adventure sports. Glasgow offers:
