Yusuke Watanabe, Japan
The main reason why I chose Liverpool was its selection as European Capital of Culture 2008. I had previously studied in London but wanted to experience somewhere different. Also the quality of the University is very high.
Liverpool International College is focused on the needs of international students. Liverpool is cheaper and more friendly than London. We can meet local people and talk with them. They are all very welcoming.
Being the only Japanese student here has been good because I have enjoyed making friends of many different nationalities. If I hadn’t come to Liverpool International College, I would never have had this opportunity. Gaining a global perspective is invaluable, especially for business. This will give me an advantage in my career when I return home, and I will have had a great experience as well.
Liverpool has a friendly atmosphere with a combination of history and modern facilities. There are lots of pubs and clubs, but also many historic and cultural attractions. I love the Beatles and Liverpool football club – so this has been a great experience for me.
I play hockey and can enjoy many things here in Liverpool.
