Students resources: Academic support services
Learning Support Tutor – your personal advisor
It is important to familiarise yourself with the student resources available to you when you join the College. You will meet your Learning Support Tutor once every two weeks in the first term of your course, and once every month once you are settled. The Learning Support Tutor’s job is to discuss your progress in class, to make sure you are aware of the resources that are available to you, to ensure that you are enjoying your course, and to encourage you to develop a disciplined, effective study habit in time for when you join the University of Liverpool.
Studying towards a university degree – your ultimate goal
The College will arrange visits to your chosen department at the university and will invite the University’s staff for information sessions and activities. Liverpool International College will also discuss your progression options as your results become available and your interests develop during your course.

Classes at Liverpool International College are smaller and more personalised than typical UK university lectures. You will get to know your tutor and classmates quickly so you can feel confident about participating.
A strong culture of attendance
Experience suggests that students who attend all their course classes and participate in all activities have a better chance of achieving the mark that they require for progression. Naturally, they will also develop highly effective study habits – a long-term benefit for the future when they progress to their degree course at the University of Liverpool.
Assessment and reports
Assessments will take place throughout the term during your international course. Liverpool International College will produce mid-term reports to give written evidence of your progress. It is therefore important that you put in all your study hours and make full use of the resources available to students.
