Kaplan International College London to prepare students for Cranfield University
New partnership offers international students pathway programme to leading UK postgraduate university
1 March 2011, London - Kaplan International College London (KICL) has partnered with Cranfield University to offer a pathway programme that will prepare international students for entry to postgraduate degree programmes at the University, the UK’s only wholly postgraduate university specialising in science, technology, engineering and management, it was announced today.
KICL will provide relevant instruction in course content, English language support, and assistance with study skills for international students interested in studying at Master’s degree level at Cranfield. Students will be able to progress to the University as early as September 2011.
Cranfield has a global reputation for inspirational teaching and research, industrial-scale facilities and superior links with industry and commerce in the fields of aerospace, automotive, defence and security, engineering, environment and water, healthcare, management and manufacturing. It has an enviable research record – 85% of its research was classed as “internationally recognised” and 15% as “world-leading” (2008 Research Assessment Exercise).
Cranfield students come from over 100 countries and are involved in ground-breaking projects that have a wide impact across the globe. Examples of Cranfield’s application-led student projects include a technical assessment of bio-derived jet fuels and a new sensor for cholera analysis in water. One current project is looking at ways to improve the environmental sustainability of off-road motorsports while maintaining the excitement of the events.
Studying at Cranfield gives students the chance to create links with potential future employers – one of the key benefits of coming to Cranfield. Cranfield has close relationships with some of the leading companies in the world, including Airbus, Boeing, Aston Martin, Ford Motor Company, Rolls-Royce, Shell, BP, GlaxoSmithKline, Unilever and many more.
Cranfield’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sir John O’Reilly, said: “As a wholly postgraduate institution, Cranfield is the first choice for ambitious and skilled individuals wishing to enrol on Master’s, Doctorate and professional development programmes. This partnership opens up a wealth of new opportunities to international students.”
