Foundation Certificate in Business, Law and Social Sciences

All Foundation Certificate courses at Nottingham Trent International College contain the following main elements:

  • Academic skills modules
  • Subject modules

English language tuition is also provided for students who need extra help with developing their English skills during their Foundation Certificate studies.

Academic skills modules

Foundation students develop key academic skills including research, writing, presentation and analysis skills.

Foundation Certificate subject modules

Foundation students are taught the basics of their chosen area of study so they have the knowledge that they need to progress to higher education studies. Students that complete the Foundation Certificate then progress to more specialised studies that focus on the topics and skills they will need to succeed in their chosen undergraduate degree course.

All modules are taught with progression to Nottingham Trent University in mind, and are designed to meet the needs of international students.

Enhanced University Preparation – three-term course

The Enhanced University Preparation course runs for three terms. You will receive an introduction to key topics, useful learning tools and UK culture in your first term, before continuing with the regular two-term Foundation course in the second and third terms. These extra study skills will support your success during the remainder of your Foundation course and when you are studying at Nottingham Trent University.
