The International Year One in Computing provides students with a fast-track route onto a related undergraduate degree at Nottingham Trent University.

Subject outline

The course is made up of core subject modules that cover fundamental computer skills and knowledge. The training course modules have been designed to maximise your opportunity to progress to Nottingham Trent University.

English Language tuition is provided for Computing students who need extra help to develop their English skills.

The International Year One in Computing is taught at Nottingham Trent University’s Clifton Campus, a short bus ride from the main City campus. £8 million has been spent on new computing facilities at the campus, giving you the very best technology to support you in your studies. Our facilities and equipment are located in the new Computing and Informatics building.

Course length
Course length varies from 2.5 to 3 terms depending on your needs.

Academic entry requirements
Entry to the International Year One in Computing requires you to have passed Grade 12 (or equivalent).

English language entry requirements
You will need to show proof of English language ability – usually an IELTS test (or equivalent Secure English Language Test – SELT (PDF)). A higher IELTS score means your programme will be shorter and you can progress to Nottingham Trent University more quickly.

Pre-Sessional English
UK universities demand a very high level of English from all international students. Students with a lower level of English will be placed on a preparation course that is longer and includes both English language lessons and academic and subject lessons.
