Pre-sessional English
Pre-sessional and Integrated English language tuition
Do you need to improve your English language skills and build confidence in using English before joining one of our academic courses?
Nottingham Trent International College (NTIC) offers two types of English language preparation for international students. Integrated English is available for students taking our Foundation or Diploma courses, while Pre-sessional English is available for those taking a Graduate Diploma course.
Pre-sessional English for Graduate Diploma students
New Tier 4 visa regulations specify that Graduate Diploma students need to have a minimum IELTS level of 5.5 (or Equivalent SELT score) with a minimum of 5.5 in each component. View a full list of UKBA approved Secure English Language Tests.
NTIC offers Pre-sessional English courses to potential Graduate Diploma students to help them achieve these results. These English courses are highly intensive and have one goal: to help you achieve the required level of English in order to study at a postgraduate level in the UK.
What is involved in a Pre-sessional English course?
This is a specialised intensive English course with a strong focus on exam preparation and individual attention. You will receive 24 hours tuition per week, plus self study and access to online exam practice. These mock exams will identify any weaknesses in your skills that will then be addressed in tutorials.
The course finishes with a Secure English language Test (SELT) that is arranged and paid for by the International College. If you are successful you will be able to renew your visa in the UK and start the two-term Graduate Diploma in January 2012. This also means you will be able to start your Master’s degree in September 2012!
