Pre-Master’s in International Relations

The Pre-Master’s in International Relations prepares you for the prestigious MA in International Relations at Nottingham Trent University. Unlike other international relations courses, our course has been a major part of Nottingham Trent University’s teaching for about 30 years.

The course is vigorous and intensive, and builds upon your past studies and related experience. It is made up of of three elements: integrated academic studies, advanced level English and higher level UK study skills.

Students who successfully complete the Pre-Master’s in International Relations will be guaranteed a place on a related postgraduate course at Nottingham Trent University.

Subject modules

Two and three-term versions of the course are available. The two-term course usually consists of ten modules, while in the three-term version you will study an additional English Language module.

  • Language for Study 2 and 3*

  • Research Design and Critique

  • Research Project

*Three term students will also take Language for Study 1 and additional hours for Language for Study 2 and 3.
