UVic document checklist
To complete your UVic application, you’ll need to upload some documents along with your form. Specific required documents may vary by degree program. Typical required documents may include:

UVic admission decisions
Here are some answers to common questions about the University of Victoria’s admission decisions.
When will I receive an admission decision?
When you receive your letter of acceptance can vary, depending on when you apply and the program you apply to. Decision times range from at least 10 days for undergraduate applicants and up to three months or longer for master’s applicants.
What does “unconditional admission” mean?
Getting an unconditional offer means you have no additional conditions you need to meet. That said, you may still need proof of financial support as part of the Canadian study permit process.
What do I need to do if I have a conditional offer of admission?
If you need to improve your English proficiency, you will be conditionally admitted to a degree or pathway program. You must then submit a qualifying language score or join a degree preparation program before you start your academic program.
If you received a conditional offer for a graduate degree program, you may be required to complete certain prerequisites to be admitted.
What happens if my application is unsuccessful?
If you don’t receive a letter of acceptance from UVic, we will support you in considering alternative or more suitable study options for you, based on your qualifications and circumstances.
Important application dates
UVic offers a range of degree programs in September, as well as some options for May and January. We always recommend applying as early as possible, so that you have enough time to request your Canadian study permit.
When should I apply for my study permit?
The Canadian government recommends applying for your Canadian study permit as soon as you receive your letter of acceptance (LOA) from the University of Victoria.
